Annie O’Shannessy

O_Shannessy___Annie_Annie has been teaching for 11 years, all at Sacred Heart College. She has a strong attachment to the College as her three daughters have all graduated from Sacred Heart during this time. She began her teaching career in the Drama and English departments, where many performances appeared on stage in the Mary Moloney Theatre. She also produced and directed many school productions.

More recently Annie has gravitated towards Religious Education and Faith Development at the College, teaching RE in Years 7 to 10 and Ethics in Year 12. To complement her teaching she has begun a Masters in Theology. These studies have provided richness in her own faith development and enabled her to offer the College community a deeper connection to faith, spirituality and the gospel message of Jesus.

It is a privilege to be in the position of Director of Catholic Identity at Sacred Heart College and be supported by our strong Catholic values, rituals and traditions. It is the very essence of what the College is and does. It is a constant reminder of the rich history of the Mercy Sisters who blazed the path which students, parents and staff walk. SHC is proud to be a Mercy School and endeavours to be faithful always to the vision of its foundress, Catherine McAuley.
