Teen Mental Health First Aid
All Year 11 students are able to participate and complete the accredited Teen Mental Health First Aid course. Mental health first aid is the help provided to a person who is developing a mental health problem, or who is in a mental health crisis, until appropriate professional treatment is received or the crisis resolves. Mental health first aid strategies are taught in evidence-based training programs authored by Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Australia and conducted by an accredited MHFA Instructors. This program provides valuable life skills for both now and into the future.
Student Management System
Students at Sacred Heart are expected to adhere to the College’s civic behaviour requirements.
All students and staff have the expectation of behaving in a respectful and responsible manner towards each other. All processes and practices developed and developing at SHCK have the importance of respect and relationship at the core. The implementation of the new Student Management System will begin in early Term Three.
Sacred Heart College Kyneton has a formal uniform which has recently been updated and is currently in a transition process over the next two years.
Completion of Work
The importance of completing all work is paramount to developing a positive and effective work ethic. At SHCK, all assessed work from Year 7 is considered not optional and processes to encourage this approach are being constantly revised and updated. The development of the social emotional competencies of persistence, perseverance and completing a task that you don’t want to are important life skills in terms of successful and fulfilling outcomes both in school and in life.
